It would seem that David Small was born to design houses.  He was born in Toronto in 1960.  Both his Father and Grandfather were builders and developers, specializing in single family homes.  He watched and learned from them, working alongside of them as a young man.  Growing up with such a “heritage of housing” ignited his passion for the business.

David knew at a very young age though that his focus would be to design – not to build.  To hone his craft, David earned his Bachelor of Architectural Technology degree close to home – at Ryerson University.  He then completed his Masters of Architecture from State University of New York.  But he still credits his integrity to the lessons learned through his upbringing.

For David, Architecture is and has always been a passion and a labour of love.  Though well-travelled, he has always returned home – living in Mississauga his entire life.  It is here that his tireless efforts have been most impactful as he has been largely responsible for reshaping entire neighbourhoods.
